Burn After Writing by Sharon Jones is a way to write about yourselves and your deepest desires without telling people.
While I like the way this book has the option for you to burn the whole book after you write in it. The downside is that I am horrible at journaling and do not always keep up with this journal.
I also do not like that there are small spaces to write in the journal. I like being able to go further if I feel the need, but having this small space makes it hard to write since you are limited in how much you can write.
You are a Badass; How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life by Jen Sincero is a self-care guide where you take your own life into your hands and your amazing life.
This is the first self-care book I go back to every once in a while because it is an honest book that basically tells you to take the bull by the horn and live your own life. This book is for people who want the truth and not some sugar-coated let me hold your hands while you walk.
Sex Magic Rituals for Radical Living & Loving; Igniting Intimacy by Rev Rowan Bombadil This is about caring for your personal relationship before working on your and your partner's relationships.
So, I do practice some sex magic, but not all the way since I am still learning about it and do not want to get into something that I am not ready for yet. This book also teaches you how to love yourself, yes, some parts talk about getting to know your body through means, but since this book is about sex, it will have things like that. I love how the book is set up to first start with yourself and then how work with a partner.

The Four Agreements; A Toltec Wisdom Book by Don Miguel Ruiz I have not read this one yet, but I like how the writer talks about how we could either let self-doubt control us or take control of our lives.
I have not read this one yet, but I plan on reading this book and giving a review on it later.
Luminary; A Magical Guide to Self-care by Kate Scelsa I haven't read this book yet either this is about all forms of self-care through mental health.
I will walkabout this one more in the future since this looks really interesting for an in-depth review.
What is shadow work? The shadow work meaning is as follows: Working with your unconscious mind to uncover the parts of yourself that you repress and hide from yourself. This can include trauma or your personality that you subconsciously consider undesirable. Anyone can do shadow work on their own.
I first started Shadow Work as a way to start working on myself when I first started my practice in my craft. I will start by saying that it is hard to find a book discussing the different ways to do shadow work. For those who want to know the difference, one form of shadow work is talked about the most: journal work. I have done this type of work before but found that I am not the type to keep a journal all the time. After a while, I started looking into other forms of self-care though I am still learning about the more intense form of self-care.
self-care
/ˌselfˈker/
noun
the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one's own health.
"autonomy in self-care and insulin administration"
the practice of taking an active role in protecting one's well-being and happiness, particularly during stress.
"expressing oneself is an essential form of self-care"
My self-care is listening to music, drawing, and reading. I like things that force my brain to change direction and focus on other things. As for my shadow work, I still have a form of journaling that I do from time to time but have not done in a while due to some work that I still need to work on with one part. These are the main books that I use and will use in my self-care if you have any other suggestions leave a comment.
